Meet Melissa Galt

Interior design is not just my practice, but my passion and my mission. I’ve had the good fortune of serving clients in Atlanta, the Southeast, and across the country for over 20 years. Your home is your external heart and as such deserves the utmost of care and attention.

Many of my clients have become like family to me, sharing holidays and birthdays, and calling me back every time they want to make a change in their home. It’s a privilege to see the changes that good design brings. And I look forward to bringing a lifetime of creative benefit to every client.

One client transformed herself by losing 40 pounds in just 90 days while I was transforming her home interiors. Another got engaged just as we wrapped up his home and then he called me back to move all of his furnishings into their new home. And still another client decided to retire in her early forties when I’d designed her second home because she loved it so much. Change your interiors and you’ll change your life.

Design is in The Genes…

Like my great-grandfather, iconic architect Frank Lloyd Wright, I have an insatiable appetite for life and express myself through the art of design. I show you how to expect more and realize the benefits a truly custom interior will bring. It isn’t just about design but about the style it brings to your life.

My clients have called me a coach, a guide, and a director of their interior visions. I have a unique process and innate ability to see what you want most and deliver it in 90 days or less. Design informs and inspires the whole of your life, it should never swallow you whole!

You deserve a well designed life and the foundation for that is an interior that tells your story, fuels your ambitions, supports your relationships, and is that place that you don’t want to leave and always look forward to coming back to.

Sharing Design Influences & Expertise…

My curiosity about other cultures, countries and customs keeps me well informed about global design trends. I’ve traveled widely from a safari in Africa to Sydney, Australia from Bombay, India to Barcelona, Spain and more. And, I always have the latest and greatest finds at my fingertips for you, my client.

In conjunction with my Atlanta based interior design business, I’ve led a successful series of classes at Oglethorpe University, Evening at Emory, and Spruill Arts Center. I created and hosted classes including Decorating on a Shoestring, Haute Couture for Your Home, Gallery Hopping, Change Your Interiors, Change Your Life, and more.

As a professional speaker, I address audiences both corporate and consumer across the country in the art of personal development and motivation. My goal is to empower and inspire others to live the life of their dreams today. We each have this journey but once, and need to make it ours!

As a design expert, I’ve had the great honor of being profiled by a number of prestigious publications, including Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Southern Living, Decorating Spaces, Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles, and The Atlanta Business Chronicle. In addition, I’ve authored a couple of motivational and lifestyle books, HERE.

The Rest of the Story…

Born in Southern California, I was raised by my mother, the late Academy Award-winning actress Anne Baxter (remember “The Ten Commandments” and “All About Eve?”) Mom taught me that with focus and determination, every problem has a solution. I truly enjoy finding creative answers to the most challenging of issues, and keep the design process in true perspective.

From the West Coast I headed east for high school and college, getting a degree in hotel and restaurant management from Cornell. I spent the next 5 years as a hotel purchasing turn-around artist, moving cities, states, and hotel companies every 8 months.

I turned around failing departments and then move on. It was priceless experience in project management that taught me how to work on tight deadlines (90 day design.) I then got a degree in design from Southern Institute to pursue my creative passion.

My career in design began with an architectural firm, then a fabric company, a furniture retailer, and then I leapt into the wild blue yonder of owning my own practice. I’ve never looked back. My greatest joy is working with you to realize the potential in your home and therefore your life. I look forward to discussing your design desires and deadlines, get in touch.
